ANXIETY | STRESS | DEPRESSION | TRAUMA | LOSS | GRIEF | RELATIONSHIPS | SELF ESTEEM | CONFIDENCE

You don’t have to face it alone.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not yourself lately, I'm here to help you through it. My priority will be to build our relationship, so you have a space to feel heard, understood and empowered. Our therapy together will give you the tools for lasting change in your life.

Together, we will work towards restoring balance and creating meaningful change in your life.

About Me

As you are reading this, you have made what was probably a difficult but brave decision to seek support from a qualified counsellor. As a warm, empathic counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the BACP, I understand this.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years working as a nurse in the NHS, an experience that taught me so much about compassion, resilience, and the importance of being truly heard. I bring a deep understanding of the emotional, psychological and physical challenges people face and the resilience it takes to navigate them. I have also worked for various charities, helping people with a variety of challenges.

People often describe me as calm, kind, and gently grounding. I bring a steady presence to the therapy space — someone who will walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and without judgment. I value honesty, humour, and the realness that can emerge when we feel safe enough to be ourselves.

I bring a gently challenging presence, one that supports and encourages meaningful change. I will help you work towards your goals and aims to get you where you want to be. Therapy with me is a space to breathe, reflect, make sense of things, and begin to feel more connected to yourself again.

If something in you is saying it's time for help, then get in touch. We can either start with an informal chat or arrange your first session.

My Approach

I offer an integrative therapeutic approach tailored to your unique needs. Whatever brings you to therapy, I will work with you as a person, not just a problem to be solved. Our sessions will be collaborative, and together we will develop a plan and a way forward that aligns with your goals and supports your healing.

Many people come to see me for help with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, unresolved past experiences, trauma, or sexual and emotional abuse.

However, problems are rarely straightforward. Often, they are complex and interconnected. You might be feeling stuck, uncertain, or dissatisfied with your life right now. Talking things through in a focused, supportive space with a qualified professional can help bring clarity and insight into what needs to change.

I believe therapy should be as unique as you are. As an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I draw from a range of therapeutic models and techniques to suit your individual needs. This might include elements of person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, and mindfulness-based approaches, among others.

My work is grounded in the Humanistic tradition, which recognises your innate capacity for growth, self-awareness, and healing. At the heart of my practice is a genuine, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship—one where you feel fully accepted and supported. In this safe and trusting environment, you can explore difficult emotions, identify patterns, and work through experiences that may be holding you back.

Alongside emotional support, I also offer practical tools and strategies to help you cope more effectively, build resilience, and make lasting, meaningful changes in your life.

Welcoming Therapy Spaces

Leeds – York – Malton – Online

I offer therapy spaces to suit your needs, all designed to make you feel comfortable, safe, and supported from the moment you arrive.

Leeds: In central Leeds, I work from Evolve Counselling, a warm and professional setting just a short walk from the train station. The space is quiet, discreet, and easy to reach, making it ideal for those living or working in the city.

York: I offer therapy from my carefully thought-out private ground floor room. It's comfortable, confidential, and accessible. It also has a driveway, so parking is provided too.

Malton: In the heart of Malton. I welcome clients to my private therapy rooms—a peaceful and nurturing environment where you can take a breath and just be. With soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a calm, homely atmosphere, these rooms are intended to offer a gentle pause from the busyness of life. There is nearby parking and easy access from surrounding areas in North Yorkshire.

Online: If you prefer the flexibility of online therapy, or if it is easier and more convenient for you, we can arrange this.

Wherever we meet, my intention is to create a space where you feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and at ease. A place where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, with no pressure or judgment, just openness, understanding, and support.
