ANXIETY | STRESS | DEPRESSION | TRAUMA | LOSS | GRIEF | RELATIONSHIPS | SELF ESTEEM | CONFIDENCE

You don’t have to face things alone. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or not quite yourself, I’m here to help. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you feel heard and supported, and work towards clarity, balance, and lasting change.

Together, we will work towards restoring balance and creating meaningful change in your life.

About Me

Taking the step to reach out for support can feel daunting, but it’s also incredibly brave. I’m a warm, compassionate BACP registered counsellor, and I’m here to offer you a space where you can feel truly heard, understood and supported.

Bringing 20 Years of Compassionate Nursing into Counselling

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent 20 years working as a nurse in the NHS, specialising in cancer care, hospice work, and accident and emergency. These roles brought me into contact with people at some of the most vulnerable and emotionally raw moments of their lives—dealing with grief, trauma, uncertainty, and loss.

This experience has profoundly shaped my approach as a therapist. It taught me how to sit with pain without trying to fix it, how to hold space for deep emotional distress, and how powerful it is to feel truly seen and heard. I bring this presence into the therapy room, offering a space that is calm, warm, and non-judgmental.

Whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, life changes, or something less easy to name, I’m here to support you in making sense of your experience and finding your own way forward.

Clients often describe me as calm, kind, and gently grounding. I bring a steady, supportive presence to our sessions, offering curiosity, honesty, and a touch of humour when it feels right. I believe therapy should feel safe and human, a place where you can be yourself without pressure or judgment.

If something in you is saying it’s time to talk, I’m here to listen. We can start with a free, informal chat to see how it feels.

My Approach

I draw on a range of therapeutic models to support your individual journey. These may include:

  • Person-centred therapy/humanistic – for building a strong, empathic, non-judgmental relationship
  • Psychodynamic theory – for exploring how past experiences may still be affecting you
  • Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) – for working with unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours
  • Mindfulness-based approaches/Grounding techniques – for developing presence, awareness, and emotional regulation

Therapy for me isn’t one size fits all, it should adapt to your needs, your pace, and your goals.

Welcoming Therapy Spaces

Leeds – York – Malton – Online

I offer therapy spaces to suit your needs, all designed to make you feel comfortable, safe, and supported from the moment you arrive.

Leeds: In central Leeds, I work from Evolve Counselling, a warm and professional setting just a short walk from the train station. The space is quiet, discreet, and easy to reach, making it ideal for those living or working in the city.

York: I offer therapy from my carefully thought-out private ground floor room. It's comfortable, confidential, and accessible. It also has a driveway, so parking is provided too.

Malton: In the heart of Malton. I welcome clients to my private therapy rooms—a peaceful and nurturing environment where you can take a breath and just be. With soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a calm, homely atmosphere, these rooms are intended to offer a gentle pause from the busyness of life. There is nearby parking and easy access from surrounding areas in North Yorkshire.

Online: If you prefer the flexibility of online therapy, or if it is easier and more convenient for you, we can arrange this.

Wherever we meet, my intention is to create a space where you feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and at ease. A place where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, with no pressure or judgment, just openness, understanding, and support.
